Prepress Checklist

File Checking
We will check your final design file to make sure it will pass to the printing plate stage smoothly.

We are able to check files from the following programs:
Acrobat (PDF)    Indesign    Coreldraw    Illustrator

We are also able to deal with other file formats, eg. Microsoft Word, Publisher..etc

Imposition
We will take your print ready PDF and impose it to your printers specifications.

Proofing
We use a Epson Pro 7880 printer for our proofing.
the file that is sent for proofing gets processed/ripped using FUJI XMF RIP so the proof and the plates are created from the same ripped file.
All proofs are calibrated using the internationally recognised FOGRA39 standard.

Plates
Our CTP platesetter (Screen Platerite) is said to be one of the most robust and reliable CTP devices on the market. It uses a Thermal process with a 32 channel Laser diode exposure head to image the plate, and does 20 plates per hour at 2400dpi.
The Screen Platerite can output a range of plate sizes, from 324mm x 370mm to a maximum size of 830mm x 660mm and a media/plate thickness of 0.15mm to 0.3mm.

We use Fuji LH-PJ2 plates which are rated to do over 100 000 impressions under normal conditions. The LH-PJ2 plates are one of the few plates that are processed using a totally GREEN/ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY Developer. The LH-PJ2 plates are also able to withstand the UV Print process, without having to bake the plate after processing.

Pricing
Our pricing is very competitive on all fronts, we will endeavour to beat or at least match any written plate price quote

Convert colour to CMYK (If not spot colour).

Ensure you have a minimum of 3mm bleed on ALL edges.

Crop marks on each page.

Page/Art is placed in the center of the PDF page.

Colour pictures are set at 300dpi.

Grayscale Bitmap images are set to 1200dpi.

ENSURE fonts are embedded in the final PDF.

REMOVE ALL colour profiles from the final PDF.

Flatten the Photoshop/Indesign document before the PDF is created.

Why CMYK and
not RGB???
